McGirr says right now the City of Huron risks losing half of the City Commission if both current Commissioners were to lose re-election bids once every three years. Mc Girr brought the ordinance to the Commission now because he will not be seeking re-election this year after 15 years as a Commissioner and Mayor in Huron. The ordinance, if approved would be effective January 1st of 2014. The municipal election to decide a new mayor and open City Commission spot is April 9th
