Trans Canada marked the movement of one billion barrels of oil through the Keystone pipeline this week. The line, which crosses eastern North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas went into operation in 2010. There have been fourteen documented spills of crude oil from the pipeline since it began operations. Goulet says the bulk of those were soon after the line began moving oil…

The line today is moving over four hundred thousand barrels of oil a day. Part of the line runs through eastern Beadle County.
