South Dakota Soybean Processors held an open house at their new processing plant in Miller Tuesday. SDSP CEO Tom Kersting says they bought the facility out of bankruptcy. They are currently processing commodity beans, but are converting it to a certified organic and GMO-free soy processing plant. The open house allows people to tour the plant and ask questions….
Kersting says their partner, World Food Processing, is signing contracts with producers to deliver the four million bushels identity preserved beans, and collect a significant premium….
Kersting says there is a real market for these beans, and they have demand from both domestic and international customers…
South Dakota Soybean Processors is managing the new facility from its headquarters in Volga. The plant in Miller will employ about fifteen people.
