The City of Huron declared April as Earth Month in the city, taking part in a larger three-week city wide clean up effort. The group removed an item from it’s agenda Monday night dealing with creating the position of a Litter Control employee. The topic became a work session where Commission members discussed the best way to address loose debris and trash in Huron. The group did proclaim April 22nd as Earth Day in Huron to correspond to national Earth Day. On that day a massive clean up is being encouraged, that includes the use of city employees from various departments to pick up as much litter as possible. The discussion also talked about how to reduce instances of loose trash in the city.
