The Boards of North Central Farmers Elevator and South Dakota Wheat Growers will be voting in June whether or not to merge into a new entity. Subrena Green with North Central Farmers Elevator says the boards have signed a letter of intent to move ahead with a possible merger.
Green says both cooperatives are in good financial shape and the timing is right for this possible merger.
Green says there will be several meetings in the next few weeks held by both cooperatives to fully inform their members about this unification agreement. North Central is based in Ipswich, and Wheat Growers is based in Aberdeen.
