Number Of Snow Alert Tickets Down In Recent Blizzard

The number of people caught parking by Huron police during a recent snow alert was down compared to normal. Huron Police Chief Gary Will, Jr. says 48 snow alert tickets were written last weekend when Huron was socked with 9 inches of snow from a blizzard. Will says the 48 tickets are one-third of what officers normally see and called the number good. The 48 tickets include tickets written for people caught illegally parking while street crews were plowing only emergency snow routes and not secondary streets. The City of Huron was under an official city-wide snow alert for 37 hours from Monday at midnight to roughly 1 P-M Tuesday afternoon.
