The arctic blast set all kinds of records, including natural gas use.
Tom Glanzer with Northwestern Energy says they hit a new peak use record this week.
Glanzer says they supplied just over thirty-two thousand dekatherms of natural gas, which beat the old record by about one percent.
Glanzer says the wide spread cold will also hit the bottom line.
Glanzer says they were ready for the chill.
Northwestern serves about sixty five thousand customers, mostly in eastern South Dakota.
