Construction is now underway on the new $ 4.7 million Nordby 4H Exhibit Hall on the South Dakota State Fairgrounds. State Fair Manager Peggy Besch says the project started last week and they’re hoping it’ll be completed in time to use during next year’s fair.
Besch is hoping once people see the building going up, it may induce them to donate to the project and help them get over the finish line.
The 48,000 square foot facility will feature more than 30,000 square feet of exhibit space, multiple classrooms, a performance stage and a large kitchen for 4H special foods competitions. Multiple 4H activities as well as community and regional events will take place in the building year round.
