South Dakota Republicans may see a floor fight over the selection of U.S. Rep. Kristi Noem’s pick for lieutenant governor.
Noem, the GOP gubernatorial nominee, has named state Rep. Larry Rhoden of Union Center as her running mate.
State Sen. Stace Nelson says Rhoden isn’t conservative enough.
Nelson and some other Republicans are pushing for state Rep. Dan Kaiser.
Nelson says it’s a fight for the soul of the party.
Other Republicans are dismissive of the effort.
