The US House failed to approve the farm bill by a vote of 234 to195. South Dakota Congresswoman Kristi Noem says she’s disappointed because she thought they had enough votes for passage.
Noem says the bill failed due to proposed SNAP cuts and the President’s influence on Democratic House members.
Noem isn’t sure what it will take for the House to pass a farm bill. She says they may have to go back to the original language that passed the Ag Committee.
Time is running out to get a bill done as the present legislation expires September 30.
