Rep. Kristi Noem will be in Huron today as part of her “Kickstart South Dakota’s Economy Tour.”
Noem will tour the RCP&E Locomotive Shop and visit with employees there.
Noem says the state is doing a lot of things right, but that the economy is falling behind.
Noem says agriculture will always be number one in South Dakota, alongside financial services and tourism, but that the state needs a buffer when those business sectors take a hit
So, what is that next big industry?
Noem would also like to expand high school technical education to the middle school levels so that young people can know, earlier, what careers are available in the state.
