A Huron man who crashed into a home with a car has pleaded guilty to a first offense D-U-I. During his initial court appearance Wednesday on charges of driving while intoxicated and reckless driving, 19-year-old Matthew Peters, pleaded guilty to the D-U-I charge. The reckless driving charge was dropped as a part of the plea agreement reached with the Beadle County States Attorney’s office. Deputy States Attorney Dan Nelson says Peters blood-alcohol content at the time of the accident was 0.2. The legal limit is 0.08. Peters received a 30 day suspended jail term and ordered to pay 600-dollars in fines and costs. He has been ordered to take part in the 24/7 program for three months. Peters drivers license is revoked for 30 days and is on probation for one year. He was not ordered to pay restitution for damage to the house, because insurance policies covered the damage repair.
