New Trial Date Set For Thompson

A June 27th trial date is in place for Edwin Thompson. Thompson is charged with second degree murder in the death of Ryan Treadway in November of 2009. A psychiatric evaluation in May of 2010 found Thompson not competent to stand trial. At a hearing almost a year after the Treadway’s death in November of 2010, doctors testified medications had brought Thompson’s schizophrenic paranoia under control and a judge found reason to believe Thompson could aide in his defense. Thompson’s attorney Ron Volesky has made a motion to add a second lawyer to his legal team in the case. A motions hearing is set for April 26th. The stomping death of Treadway was the fourth of four homicides to shake Huron in 2009
