A new study says Mitchell Technical Institute has a $37.6-million dollar total annual impact in the Mitchell trade region that covers fourteen counties.
MTI vice-president John Heemstra says the goal is to provide an objective data source to discuss the school’s economic impact and its value to the region…
Of the $37.6-million dollar figure, the impact of the increased earnings of MTI’s graduates and the businesses they work for in the region is $23.1-million dollars, or 294 jobs supported.
For every tax dollar invested in MTI, the school returns $4.70 in added taxes and public sector savings.
The study concludes MTI creates value from multiple perspectives. The school plans to publish the complete results on-line in the future.
