Huron Superintendent of Schools Terry Nebelsick recently made a trip to Washington D.C. to participate in a national advocacy conference. The joint conference includes the state’s superintendent and business associations. Nebelsick is the president-elect of the SD Superintendent’s Association.
One of the areas of focus was the continuing growth of expenses for special education.
The visit included the opportunity to meet with Senators John Thune and Mike Rounds.
Nebelsick says while there seems to be an anti-public education vibe in the nation, all three members of the SD congressional delegation have or have had children in the public system and are strong supporters of public education.
This evening, Nebelsick will officially take over the presidency of the SD Superintendent’s Association.
