A memorial fund has been established for a Frankfort woman found dead in a North Sioux City town home on December 5th. 26-year-old April Simmons was found by a male friend she was visiting, when the friend returned home from work. Simmons three-year-old son, was at the townhouse with his mother’s body when it was found. Kristi Williams, Simmons’ mother in Killeen, Texas, says the memorial fund will be used to help insure Simmons’ family in Texas has fair visitation with the boy and to be used as a college fund as well. Donations can be made at any Wells Fargo Bank location, by asking to donate to the April Simmons Memorial Fund. Meanwhile Sara Raburn at the South Dakota Attorney Generals office says the investigation into the cause of Simmons death continues and they are unable to release any information regarding what happened. North Sioux City police have previously ruled out suicide as a cause of death and have said a number of Simmons acquaintances we’re considered “persons of interest” to the investigation, but declined to elaborate.
