A Severe Thunderstorm Watch was in effect for parts of the evening last night but severe weather just never got going. Two brief severe thunderstorm warnings were issued late last night. The first for Northern Beadle County was issued around 9:45 pm, but the storm died out well before the 10:15 pm expiration on the warning. Spotters reported a gust of 45 miles an hour near Broadland with that cell that gained and lost strenght multiple times as it traveled from near Chamberlain. The second warning was issued for Southeastern Hand County at 11:20 PM. That storm too, fizzled out before it expired at 11:45 but spotters did report quarter-sized hail six miles northeast of Danforth at about 11:15. Lightning started a fire south of Wolsey last night as wellChances of severe weather will return for Friday and Saturday.
