The City of Redfield has voted in a new mayor. During their election last night, incumbent Duane Sanger went up against Jayme Akin and Pat Faegen. Sanger had been the Mayor in Redfield since 1975, but lost the seat to challenger Jayme Akin. Akin received 280 votes, Sanger received 259 and Faegen had 103 votes. There will also be some fresh faces on the Redfield City Council as Ward 2 incumbent Norm Sihrer fell to challenger Mike Siebrecht. Siebrecht received 97 votes, Sihrer had 51 and Health Shottenkirk received 17. In Ward 4, two newcomers sought out the seat vacated by Ken Avery. Jo Morrissette received 83 votes to edge out Heather O’Daniel, who received 71 votes. Voter turnout in the election was at 41.68%
