SDSU Extension state climatologist Laura Edwards says South Dakota may get some drought relief in April.
Edwards says earlier weather models looked discouraging for summer moisture, but those models have improved some.
At this point, Edwards says, it doesn’t look like the Missouri River will cause flooding in South Dakota.
According to NOAA’s most recent map, no rivers in South Dakota show even minor or moderate chances for flooding. But, as Edwards said, that could change is an area received a significant snowfall or rainfall event.
