Other safety tips for those indoors while lightning is occurring outside include avoiding use of computers and other electrical equipment, avoid windows and doors and stay off porches and do not lie on concrete floors or lean against concrete walls. If you are caught outside with no safe shelter nearby the following actions may reduce your risk- get off elevated areas such as hills, never lie flat on the ground, and get away from bodies of water.
