SIOUX FALLS, SD – A man accused of harboring another South Dakota man who eventually was sentenced to nearly six years in federal prison for tax fraud and other financial crimes has pleaded guilty. U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says 64-year-old Theodore Nelson of Letcher faces up to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine when he’s sentenced Nov. 7 on the charge of concealing a person from arrest. Nelson admitted harboring Thomas Kelley of Salem, who was convicted of 22 federal crimes then failed to appear at his sentencing last August, prompting a four-month, multistate search by authorities. He was arrested in Minnesota in late December.
