A Letcher man was sentenced to a year of federal prison time for hiding Thomas Kelley from law enforcement. 64-year-old Ted Nelson was giving 12 months and a day of prison time after pleading guilty to Concealing a Person from Arrest, with credit for time served. Nelson was indicted in April on two charges and pleaded guilty to one of those in a plea deal in August. Nelson admitted to hiding Kelley who was convicted of 22 separate federal crimes, then failed to appear at his sentencing on August 23 of last year. Kelley was tracked down in Wood Lake Minnesota that December.
