Lawmakers Reject Non-Meandered Waters Bill

South Dakota legislators this week rejected a bill on non-meandered lakes that was written by an interim study committee, and will instead extend the bill passed in last summers special session.

Senator Jason Frerichs of Wilmot says the summer study bill was too restrictive

Frerichs says passing SB24 won’t end the issue

Frerichs says it may be best to extend the current law, and adjust as necessary

This year’s bill would extend the sunset of the law by three years.
