Huron Regional Medical Center has announced that Tarryn Korkow, RN, BSN, as the first graduate of their new nurse leadership program.
The HRMC nurse leadership program was developed last year with a focus on transitional leadership and providing nurses with tools, training and practical application to become future nurse leaders. This one-year program provides participants with opportunities to further their career and includes: mentorship, evidenced-base practice, American Nursing Association (ANA) Leadership courses, and more. Two candidates are selected annually.
Korkow has worked at HRMC for seven years with experience serving patients in multiple departments including: medical, surgical, pediatric, ICU, postpartum, nursery, surgery and the HRMC Physicians Clinic. Tarryn is active on several committees, researching and initiating new and improved care and services at HRMC. Tarryn is certified in PALS, ACLS, BLS and TNCC.
Korkow earned an associate of arts degree in nursing from Dakota Wesleyan University in 2010 and a bachelor of science degree in nursing in 2015.
She lives in Huron with her husband, Adam, and sons; Oakley, age four, and Audi age two. Her parents are Joe and Dawn Butterfield.
