Monday night the Huron City Commission went through it’s annual re-organizational meeting required by state law for the first Monday in May. Along with that Huron’s two newest City Commissioners were put into action….
Finance Officer Paullyn Carey conducted the swearing in of Douglas Kludt and Bryan Smith to their terms on the City Commission. Kludt will assume the role of Public Works Commissioner from Jan Manolis. Smith, a banker, replaces Dale Schneider as Finance Commissioner. Senior Commission member Mark Robish retains his role as Public Safety Commissioner and sophomore Commissioner Gary Harrington remains Utilities Commissioner. The newly appointed Commission approved a list of financial institutions as official depositories for the City and approved the official newspaper for printing minutes and legal notices.
