Keystone XL Pipeline Remains a Contentious Issue in Pierre

Its progress is stalled at the federal level, but the Keystone X-L pipeline is getting plenty of attention at the South Dakota State Capitol. Republican Governor Kristi Noem supports the project.

Noem is hopeful the pipeline can be built peacefully.

Democrats in Pierre have a different view on Keystone X-L Senate Minority Leader Troy Heinert of Mission says the Legislature needs to look at the issue…

Heinert says they haven’t heard about plans to deal with issues relating to construction…

The pipeline would pass through portions of Harding, Butte, Perkins, Meade, Pennington, Haakon, Jones, Lyman and Tripp Counties.
