Commissioner Doug Kludt wanted to see additional funding options looked into like the Huron Community Foundation…
The Kansas Mall is one of two projects the current Leadership Huron class is raising money for. Alyward suggested that all funding option be explored before possibly ending the project. Other suggestions included having SDSU and PCI increase their financial obligations or finding away to scale back the project. There is no firm time line on a decision by the city, however due to the timing of the project for the SDSU students in their class, they would like to begin work on the Kansas Mall this spring.
