Judges, Water Boards And Other Races Decided Tuesday

voteA number of races from Judgeships to Water Directors and more were decided Tuesday night. To the north of Huron, voters made it an all Republican District Two, which includes Spink and Clark County. Brock Greenfield won the Senate seat and Burt Tulson and Lana Greenfield are headed to the House. In District Eight, in Sanborn and Miner Counties, Democrat Scott Parsley won the Senate chair while Republicans Matt Wollmann and Dr. Leslie Heinemann swept the available House seats. District 20, in Jerauld, Aurora and Davison counties went all Republican. Senator Mike Vehle ran unopposed. Joining incumbent Tona Rozum in the House of Representatives will be Josh Klumb. In District 23 which covers Hand and the southwest part of Spink County, Republican Corey Brown retained his Senate seat running unopposed while G-O-Per’s Justin Cronin and Michele Harrison were elected to the House. Outside of the State Capital building. Robert Spears beat Ronald Roehr in a close race of an open seat in the Third Judicial Circuit as a judge. Spears beat Roehr by 283 votes to sneak by with 50-point-57-percent of the vote. Another close race was for District Director Five on the James River Water Development District. Frank Amundson beat Leanne Gutormson by 56 votes winning 51-percent of the vote.
