The James River Water Development District Board of Directors is planning to pay more for stream buffering projects. Board Manager, Dave Bartel, says the board moved to consider increasing incentives for erosion management.
Bartel says the board has funds left over from the last two years of the incentive program, and they are hoping to increase producer participation with higher payments.
The board will develop the new program details and vote on the changes during their next meeting in September.
