Jersey Avenue Speed Limit To Increase

The Huron City Commission has approved a recommendation from the Public Safety Committee to increase the speed limit on Jersey Avenue to 25 miles an hour. Commissioner Mark Robish moved the recommendation saying the one of the reasons for the increase is the fact the old Municipal swimming pool will not be opened this year because of the construction of Splash Central. Huron Mayor Dave McGirr says the speed limit on that section of Jersey has been through a number of speed limit changes over the years…

The change will only affect the Jersey Avenue from U-S Highway 14, south to 3rd Street. Jersey Avenue, NORTH of Highway 14 will keep it’s current speed limit. It’s not known when new signs will be in place to reflect the change.
