The South Dakota High School Activities Association’s decision last week to table 6 man football for two years has put Iroquois High School back to the drawing board.
The Chiefs were planning to field a 6 man team this fall, and school Superintendent and A-D Mike Ruth said the decision was disappointing.
Ruth says the school is now looking at their options.
Iroquois was in a co-op with DeSmet for several years, and then fielded a JV team for a few years. The last two years Iroquois did have a varsity team, going 1 and 7 in 2017 and 0 and 8 last fall.
Ruth hopes to have a plan for next fall ready within the next week or two.
