HYDE COUNTY, SD – A wind project in Hyde County has been suspended by its Florida developer. NextEra Energy officials say the 150-megawatt project is still active, but it’s put the permitting process on hold.
Spokesman Steve Stengel says the company needs “greater clarity,” including “identifying a customer.” NextEra operates three wind farms in South Dakota: a 99-megawatt project in Day County, a 40-megawatt project in Hyde County and a 51-megawatt project in Jerauld County.
