Huron Woman Dies In Accident East Of Pierre

A Huron woman who volunteered her time at the Huron Public Library and Huron Regional Medical Center has died following a three vehicle accident east of Pierre Friday. The South Dakota Highway Patrol confirms 79-year old Marcella Larson died when the S-U-V she was a passenger in collided nearly head-on with another S-U-V driven by 17-year-old Alexandra Farber of Britton. The accident happened 14 miles east of Pierre at the US-Highway 14/83 junction in Hughes County. A third vehicle was stopped on U-S Highway 83, waiting to turn east on to Highway 14 and was struck by the S-U-V driven by 52-year-old Todd Larson of Huron. He suffered serious injuries. The stopped vehicle was driven by 25 year old Kaycee Hill of Blunt. Hill suffered serious injuries. Her two year and 16 month old daughters were not injured. Larson was pronounced dead at the scene. No other information was available as the South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate.
