Huron SRT Gets Practice Time In Woonsocket House

The Huron Police Department’s Special Response Team got the rare opportunity for some realistic practice Monday….

The Sanborn County Sheriff’s Office offered a vacant home in Woonsocket on Highway 34 next to the Bethany Lutheran Church for the Huron S-R-T team to conduct real-time entries and flash bang grenade deployments into an unfamiliar structure. Sergeant Brandon Neitzert says the team learned a lot in the roughly two hour training….

Adding to the realism were cold, breezy north winds and steps with thick, hard packed ice that made climbing difficult.
