Huron Sets New Daily Snowfall Record on Friday

Although we missed out on the heavier amounts, Friday was a record-setting snow day in Huron.

According to the National Weather Service, the Huron area picked up around 6.5 inches of snow on January 18th. That was enough to set a new daily snowfall record.

The previous record for that date was 3.5, which was set in 1926. Sioux Falls also set a daily snow fall record last Friday.

The heaviest snow was along the SD Hwy 34/MN Hwy 30 corridor from around Madison, east toward Windom, MN.

Those areas received 10-15 inches of snow.
