Several teams of drug detecting K-9’s and handlers were in Huron Wednesday for training. Several area locations were used to set-up training scenarios. Teams began the day at the Huron Municipal Building then moved on the the Federal Surplus Building to search storage areas. The Huron Housing Authority also allowed teams to do practice searches in one of there homes in Northwest Huron. The training concluded with mock traffic stop searches on Market Avenue. Officers took turns driving vehicles belonging to the City of Huron for the vehicle searches. Assistant Public Information Officer Cory Bord declined to name what agencies were involved in the training citing requests by the agencies involved.
