The first cohort of a new nursing program will kick off the first semester in Huron on Tuesday.
The associate of applied science degree in nursing is a collaboration between Huron Regional Medical Center Foundation, Southeast Technical Institute, Huron University Foundation, Huron Community Campus and several other partners.
Brooke Sydow, workforce program developer with the HRMC Foundation, says they’re calling Tuesday a “jump start”.
Sydow says a lot of work has gone into putting the program together since the announcement was first made back in November.
Sydow says it’s important to have all of these courses available in Huron.
Seven students are enrolled in the program. Anyone interested in the program for next year can contact the HRMC Foundation at 353-6315. Scholarships are available.
