Huron Man Arrested For Rape And Child Porn

A Huron man is out of jail on bond following his arrest Thursday night for multiple counts of rape and possession of child pornography. Beadle County States Attorney Mike Moore says John Rose posted bond of 75-thousand dollars cash or surety Friday following a bond hearing. Moore says the victim, who is under the age of 13, came forward to authorities who then obtained search warrants for Rose’s residence. An initial court appearance is scheduled for January 2nd. First degree rape is a Class C felony with a maximum sentence of life in prison and a 50-thousand dollar fine. Possession of child porn has a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and or a 30-thousand dollar fine.
