It is re-organization night for the Huron City Commission. Doug Kludt and Bryan Smith will be sworn in to take over their new roles on the City Commission as Jan Manolis and Dale Schneider step away from public service on the Commission. Commissioners will consider awarding a bid for a lift station replacement, a payment request and consider the purchase of road oil for chip sealing of Beadle County bid. The Commission will also consider a special event on-sale malt beverage license filed by the Huron Elks for an event June ninth at Bergman Arena. The second reading of an ordinance making upgrades and changes to the city’s traffic ordinance is tonight along with first reading of an ordinance regarding the Rules of Order the Commission must follow. A resolution regarding a sale tax refunding bond will also be considered. Departmental items include the annual re-organization of the City Commission and the appointment of appointive officers for city departments. The official depositories and newspaper will also be approved. The remaining five items are human resource related. The Huron City Commission is scheduled to meet in executive session regarding a matter listed on the agenda as Legal, under S-D-C-L one dash 25 dash two, three. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM in the City Commission room of the Huron Municipal Building. The meeting is open to the public.
