Huron City Commission Holds Weekly Meeting Tonight

The Huron City Commission is meeting tonight at the Huron Municipal Building. A variety of variances will come before the group as they recess to convene as the Board of Adjustment. Three of the variances are related to the construction of a home or garage and one is regarding the subdivision of a lot. When the City Commission reconvenes, Commissioners will consider awarding a bid for yearly water, sewer and irrigation materials. The Commission will consider an application for the abatement and or refund of property taxes at 1315 Ohio Avenue Southwest. Departmental items include a hiring recommendation for the solid waste department, approval of election workers and authorizing the Mayor to sign grant applications from the South Dakota Broadband Initiative for upgrading computers at the Municipal Building and police department. There are no scheduled executive or work sessions for the Huron City Commission. The meeting starts at 5:30 PM and is open to the public
