The Huron City Commission has a full night in front of them at tonight’s Huron City Commission meeting. The Commission will meet as the Board of Adjustments for a variance request. When the Commission reconvenes, Commissioners will approved two payment requests. A discussion on the Dakota Minnesota and Eastern Railroads Lincoln Avenue crossing will be held, along with the presentation of the feasibility study on turning solid waste into a burnable fuel to generate electricity. The Commission will also consider renewing it’s agreement with Midcontinent Communications for high-speed Internet access at the Huron Community Campus. The Second Reading of the 2011 Annual Appropriations Ordinance is tonight along with Second reading and public hearing for an ordinance restricting building in utility easements and the first reading of a revamped ordinance on guidelines for outdoor beer gardens. One hiring recommendation and two public reminders round out the agenda for the Huron City Commission. The Commission will meet in executive session for a contractual matter, then hold a work session regarding possible changes to the Police Impound Yard. The Huron City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 PM and the meeting is open to the public.
