PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — The last of six people has been sentenced for poaching deer in 2011 and 2012 near Timber Lake. The state says 32-year-old John Tschetter, of Yale, pleaded guilty in Dewey County to eight crimes. He must pay $23,500 in fines, damages and restitution and serve 28 days in jail, including four days at the opening of each of the next four West River Deer seasons. Tschetter also must complete a hunter safety class, forfeit two rifles and lose his hunting privileges for six years. The five other people were convicted of one crime each, lost their hunting licenses for a year and were fined: 55-year-old Jeff Tschetter, of Huron; 32-year-old Kayce Tschetter, of Yale; 53-year-old Scot Eckmann, of Cavour; 49-year-old William Fast, of Yale; and 28-year-old Adam Doerr, of Huron.
