HOWARD, S.D. (AP) – A Brookings County man is hospitalized in Sioux Falls after being shot in a weekend hunting accident. Twenty-year-old Shea Oines, of Aurora, was hunting with family and friends near Howard when he was hit by a shotgun blast Saturday evening. Father Ray Oines says his son has shotgun pellets in his chest, neck and face. He doesn’t know how long he’ll be in the hospital. There also was a hunting accident in Davison County. Authorities say a Texas hunter in his 40s was hit in the lip by a shotgun pellet about mid-day Sunday. The unidentified man had the pellet removed at a Mitchell care facility. Saturday was the opening day of South Dakota’s pheasant hunting season.
