Ken Huber wiped tears from his eyes as he relived the moments after his wife Pam was struck by a bullet from his Glock 40-caliber handgun. Prosecutors played the 9-1-1 tape made while he called for help. Huber himself is difficult to hear on the tape except for when trying to give first add to his wife. At that time the Huber’s daughter Stephanie took the phone and talked with Pierre police department dispatcher Wendy Carroll. The young girl was remarkable calm at times, yet frantic at others. Stephanie said on the call quote. “Mom, I love you. We need somebody now. We need somebody fast.” Stephanie Huber also said quote ” He, referring to Ken Huber, was moving it from the safe and accidentally pulled the trigger. The first call was cut off as Carroll dispatched emergency crews to the Huber home. A return call by Carroll could not be completed but a second dial back was complete. Earlier former Hyde County States Attorney Jennifer Lowrie recalled e-mails and phone calls about her love affair with Huber. At one point, point a very sexually explicit e-mail between Lowrie and Huber was shown to the Jury but not read into the record. Witness testimony continues this afternoon. Tomorrow is a field trip of sorts as jurors will be transported to Highmore to view the Huber home. Former Highmore police chief Ray Kusser talked about photos he had taken at the scene including one showing a large amount of blood on top of the bed that appeared to have flowed down the side of the bed and pooled on the floor. The Huber residence has been sealed ever since
