Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) honored its May Exceptional Employee of the Month, Marlee Hattervig, LPN, with a reception on Wednesday, May 8.
Hattervig, who has worked as a licensed practical nurse on HRMC’s medical floor since September, was nominated by coworkers to receive the honor. According to nominating coworkers, “Marlee goes above and beyond for her patients and is never afraid to lend a helping hand.
“No work is beneath her and she is always ready and willing,” the nomination continued. “Marlee has the utmost respect for everyone and anyone who works with her or is cared for by her is truly in great hands!”
HRMC’s Exceptional Employee of the Month award recognizes an employee who goes above and beyond to exceed expectations. Employees can be nominated by other coworkers or by a patient or visitor who witnesses exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments chooses the employee on a monthly basis and an Exceptional Employee of the Year is chosen at year-end from the 12 monthly honorees.
As May exceptional employee, Hattervig, received a reception with family, friends and coworkers, a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, a lapel pin and a special parking place for a month.
Hattervig graduated from the LPN program at Mitchell Technical Institute in May 2018. She’s been working in health care for the last five years, first as a certified nurse assistant and med aide at the Good Samaritan Society in Howard and then at HRMC.
In her spare time, Hattervig enjoys watching Grey’s Anatomy, shopping online and spending time with her nieces and nephews
