Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) honored its October Exceptional Employee of the Month, Mati Felderman, with a reception on Wednesday, October 9.
Felderman, who has worked as the executive secretary for the HRMC administration team for more than a year and a half, was nominated by coworkers to receive the honor. According to nominating coworkers, “Mati is an exceptional person, a great listener and everyone enjoys working with her immensely!”
“She is always willing to help with questions or when her advice is needed. She also anticipates needs and works ahead to make sure everything runs smoothly,” the nomination continued. “Mati is helpful, respectful and compassionate – a true servant leader.”
HRMC’s Exceptional Employee of the Month award recognizes an employee who goes above and beyond to demonstrate the hospital’s values of being accessible, helpful and knowledgeable. Employees can be nominated by other coworkers or by a patient or visitor who witnesses exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments chooses the employee every month and an Exceptional Employee of the Year is chosen at year-end from the 12 monthly honorees.
As October exceptional employee, Felderman received a reception with family, friends and coworkers, a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, a lapel pin and a special parking place for a month.
A native of Wyoming, Felderman earned bachelor of science degrees in business administration and mass communications from Black Hills State University in Spearfish, S.D. She began her career as the development manager for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in Rapid City. While her sons were small, Felderman worked as a floral designer at Clark Flower and Gift Shop in Clark.
She is married to Chad, who is employed at Dakota Energy Cooperative and they have two sons: Noah, age 11, and Jaxson, age 7. They live on Chad’s family farm south of Doland. In her spare time, Felderman enjoys spending time with family, following her boys’ activities, crafting, and enjoying sunshine and summer activities at Lake Poinsett.
