Huron Regional Medical Center (HRMC) honored its July Exceptional Employee of the Month, Liz Du Toit, RN, with a reception on Wednesday, July 11, 2018.
Du Toit, who has worked as a nurse at HRMC for nearly five years, was nominated by coworkers to receive the honor. According to nominating coworkers, “Liz is a true asset to this hospital as evidenced by her flexible ‘can-do’ attitude and her willingness to go outside of her comfort zone to get the job done!”
“She delivers personalized, compassionate care to the newest HRMC patients and their moms,” the nomination continued. “Liz always has positive vibes and never has bad things to say – she sets a great tone in the work environment.”
HRMC’s Exceptional Employee of the Month award recognizes an employee who goes above and beyond to exceed expectations. Employees can be nominated by other employees or by a patient or visitor who witnesses exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments chooses the employee on a monthly basis and an Exceptional Employee of the Year is chosen at year-end from the 12 monthly honorees.
As July exceptional employee, Du Toit received a reception with family, friends and coworkers, a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, a lapel pin and a special parking place for a month.
Originally from Huron, Du Toit graduated with an associate degree in nursing from Dakota Wesleyan Nursing Program-Huron site. She and her husband, Marius, who works at Rocking Z Acres, live in Huron with their children; Anthony, age 8; Eliana, age 3; and Nora, 18 months. She is the daughter of Bill and Dawn Johnson, who also works as a nurse in HRMC’s birthing center. In her spare time, Du Toit enjoys playing with her children, photography, gardening, and walking their boxer, Banjo.
