HRMC Honors Blasdell as November Exceptional Employee

Huron Regional Medical Center honored its November Exceptional Employee of the Month, Leann Blasdell, with a reception on Wednesday, November 15, 2017

Blasdell, who has worked in food service as a tray aide for more than six years, was nominated by coworkers to receive the honor. According to nominating coworkers, “Leann is super organized and takes pride in doing her job correctly and completely.

She easily builds rapport with patients due to her friendly nature and her ability to engage them in conversation,” the nomination form continued. “Leann also puts others first and leads by example with her willingness to trade shifts and pick up open shifts.”

HRMC’s Exceptional Employee of the Month award recognizes an employee who goes above and beyond to exceed expectations. Employees can be nominated by other employees or by a patient or visitor who witnesses exceptional service. A committee of employees from various hospital departments chooses the employee on a monthly basis and an Exceptional Employee of the Year is chosen at year-end from the 12 monthly honorees.

As November exceptional employee, Blasdell received a reception with friends and coworkers, a meal certificate to a local restaurant, a professional photo session and portrait, $50, a lapel pin and a special parking place for a month.

Blasdell graduated from Miller High School and took business courses at Huron College. She retired from Hand County Hospital after more than 30 years of service.

“After retiring, joining the dietary staff at HRMC was a perfect fit for me,” said Blasdell. “I love working with the staff here.”

She has two grown children: son Rob (Camie) Blasdell and daughter Krissa Blasdell and four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She is a member of the Red Hat Society, BCNU Extension Club and participates in the Huron Senior Center Exercise Group. In her spare time, she loves to read and do crafts.
