HRMC and Runnings Team Up for Breast Cancer Month

October is Breast Cancer Prevention and Awareness month. In order to promote the importance of early detection activities, Huron Regional Medical Center is hosting and participating in several awareness activities.

Runnings Farm & Fleet is hosting a Ladies’ Night Out on Wednesday, October 18, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. HRMC mammography staff will be on-hand providing early detection information and scheduling mammograms.

Shoppers can purchase a pink bucket for $2, to receive 15 percent off the regular price items they can fit into the bucket. Throughout the evening, they can also enjoy food tastings and demonstrations from a variety of vendors including: Shore Lunch Soup, Wandry Apiary, Tropiceel, Dot’s Pretzels, Grubbersputz’s Popcorn, Springfield Armory, Nutrisource and O’Rielly’s. Other vendors including Rada Cutlery, Wild Tree, Lynn Daniels Blankets, Coborn’s and 4-Paws will also be on hand.

Attendees will also have a chance to register for great prizes including a trip to Puerto Vallarta, one of three Fitbits and a $250 Runnings gift card. A portion of the proceeds will benefit HRMC’s We’ve Got You Covered mammogram program.

HRMC and Huron High School volleyball players will also be selling gray t-shirts with a pink imprint “We Fight for She,” for $12 to be worn at the game against Watertown on Tues., October 24, at 7 p.m.
