The South Dakota Law Enforcement Officers Standards and Training Commission approved Huron’s program earlier this year. Normal certified officers take 13 weeks of training. The reserve officer program in Huron requires 100 hours of training. Those interested in applying can find applications on the City of Huron’s website or can contact Officer Mark Johnson at 353-8550.
